Who Am I? Marley Dias

Marley Dias was sick and tired of reading books that had no characters that look like her.  It is a familiar feeling for black children.  Even when it isn't said, there is a deep feeling of loneliness, of feeling left out and stuck in a neighborhood, on a block, with low expectations of who you are as a black youth.  

Marley took matters into her own hands.  She searched and found over 1,000 books that had characters that she could relate to,  learn from, and appreciate.  From there, she started 1,000 Black Girl Books, operating under GrassROOTS  Community Foundation.   She has since gained popularity, love, and a book deal!
